Wednesday 1 May 2019
The HÂþ» was placed first among conservatoires for music in the UK. The Complete University Guide Arts, Drama and Music league table ranks specialist UK colleges and conservatoires using ten criteria: entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, graduate prospects, student-staff ratio, academic services spend, facilities spend, good honours and degree completion. The HÂþ» performed particularly well in graduate prospects and student satisfaction.
HÂþ» Director Professor Colin Lawson said ‘The Royal College of Music continues to demonstrate its commitment to the highest quality teaching, facilities and training of talented musicians from across the world. This result shows that the investment in our facilities will take an already world class institution to even greater heights.’
This success follows the HÂþ» being ranked the top institution for performing arts in the UK for four consecutive years in the QS World University Rankings (2016–19).
The HÂþ» was also ranked the top UK conservatoire for music in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 and top music conservatoire for overall student satisfaction in the latest National Student Survey (NSS) according to the Times Higher Education.
